Your Instagram Account Isn’t Growing
Instagram growth can stall for anyone. Well, any human anyway – those in the rarified Kardashian level air don’t have to worry about anything stalling.
– Cars
– Finances
– Anything
But the rest of us, have to deal with the inevitable ebbs and flows that come with any social media platform.
Here are a few things you can do to keep that growth…erm…growing.
Look at Your Audience
You know how the first 30 minutes of posting is vital? If you don’t get enough interaction within the first half hour, Instagram’s algorithm assumes your post isn’t interesting enough to people and so moves it waaaaay down the feed.
We don’t want that.
So, make sure you know when your audience is online. With Plann Desktop, you can find the optimal time to post based on when your audience is online.
Do that.
Your Content
When creating your grid, make sure it has a common thread and encourages your audience to stop scrolling. Think about your brand, how to keep your images fresh and relevant and – most importantly – what your audience wants to see.
Your Hashtags
Hashtags are super important when it comes to growing your following. Remember to create hashtag sets that are relevant to your images rather than just the people you’re trying to engage. Often, our perception of who will like our feed can be limited, so grab 30 hashtags and spread that net!
Like and Comment
Instagram is interactive, so make sure you’re all over comments and likes. See something you like? Tell the creator that you think they’re amazing and their work is incredible!
Dialogue grows engagement and gives you a better chance of gaining followers – people prefer to follow people that they like and – as your Mom told you on your first day of school – talking to other people will help them get to know you.
And like you.
You get it.
Keep Them Coming Back
Don’t get disheartened. Instagram followers fluctuate, but if you’re producing brilliant content consistently, then the right people will show up. Unfortunately, when followers so down, many people choose to post less and people stop returning and then there are months of rebuilding to do.
Stick with it!
We love Instagram because it lets you create something beautiful to you. In the end, you can’t please everyone, but as long as what you’re making means something to you, it’s worth it.
