CPC (Cost-Per-Click)

The amount of money you pay each time someone clicks on your ad on a social media platform.

CPC stands for Cost-Per-Click. It’s a way of measuring the cost of advertising on social media. When you run ads on platforms like Facebook or Instagram, you can choose to pay for them in different ways. CPC means you only pay when someone clicks on your ad. This can be a good option if you want to drive traffic to your website or landing page.

How is CPC used in social media?

Social media platforms let you set a budget for your ads and choose your target audience. They then show your ad to people who are likely to be interested in what you’re offering. When someone clicks on your ad, you’re charged a specific amount, which is your CPC. By tracking your CPC, you can see how effective your ads are and how much you’re spending to reach each new customer.

Lower CPC is generally better as you pay less to reach people. But remember, not all clicks are equal! You want clicks from people interested in what you offer.

How to calculate CPC

Here’s how to figure out your CPC for social media ads:

CPC = (Total Cost /(Clicks) = (CPC)

  1. Gather your numbers: Find the total amount you spent on your ad campaign (Total Cost). This should be available in your social media advertising platform.
  2. Count those clicks! See how many times people actually clicked on your ad (Number of Clicks). This information is also usually provided by the platform.
  3. Divide and conquer! Divide your total cost by the number of clicks (Total Cost / Number of Clicks). This will give you your CPC.
